adidas is seriously taking over the sneaker game right now. The competition is trying to keep up but with the hybrid creations like the adidas EQT Support 93/17 "Turbo Red" adidas is making it really hard. This highly anticipated release was teased over and over again on social media. The internet buzz was tremendous and sneakerheads knew this sneaker would be harder to get than a pair of Jordans. After searching the web and talking to various connections, we were able to get our hands on a pair to do a comprehensive review.
The Silhouette - EQT Support 93/17
Garnering the most attention of the "Turbo Red" collection, the 93/17 is considered the most coveted. The equipment runner is a modern-day reinterpretation of the original 1993 EQT infused with adidas patent BOOST technology. This EQT Support comes dressed in a Primeknit upper done in black and grey glitch pattern. On the medial side, you will find multiple white stripes in vertical pattern along the inner toe box. As seen in all the images, a huge, chunky white BOOST sole provides the comfiest ride (In my opinion) of all BOOST'ed models you will ever wear. Subtle Three Stripes branding that is added to the lateral side comes in a classic EQT-esque ribbon fashion. The “EQT” dubraes come in black on the lateral side, while the turbo red hits are placed on the heel as well as on the medial side of the TPU heel cage. This modern designed model contains a green OrthoLite® sockliner, which adds to the ultra comfort of the sneaker. One missed opportunity comes in the form of the outsole - adidas decided not to use the Continental rubber. However, this does not take away from the durability and feel of the shoe. Overall, being an avid EQT collector, the adidas EQT Support 93/17 based on style and visual appeal alone, is a must-have. Modern lines, sleek appearance and great styling makes up this one of a kind sneaker.
On The Foot - EQT Support 93/17
On the foot the "Turbo Red" is the best feeling shoe, that we have put on our feet. The OrthoLite® sockliner complements the BOOST midsole perfectly. The TPU heel cage, locks you down and keeps the heel in place just in case of sudden changes in directions. The wrap style tongue maybe the only hiccup on the sneaker, adjusting it is hard and if you have a thicker foot, the tongue will not wrap around the upper portion of your foot completely. The adidas EQT Support 93/17 was worth the wait and trouble of trying to procure. We can not wait for more colorways and to see if more EQT models receive the BOOST treatment. Although this shoe is sold out everywhere, you can find pairs on reseller site like Stadium Goods or GOAT. Check out the images below, we put the EQT Support to work with a pair of our favorite joggers. Hit the comment section and let us know what you think.
