With the summer quickly upon us, sneakers are releasing like hot cakes. What better way to break in those sneakers than having a nice pair of socks to help you. With the release of the Nike Lebron XII BHM, I decided to take out two pair of my Primitive socks.
Primitive Apparel was founded in 2008 by 3 friends, most notable - Skateboarder Paul Rodriguez, in Los Angeles, C.A. The brand has 3 different divisions; Skateboards, Apparel and Shoes, all of which has gained world wide recognition. Primitive has stated that there is something about skateboarding that attracts the most colorful and diverse characters. I just so happen that Primitive apparel has some of the most colorful and diverse apparel on the market.
The socks featured in this review are the Primitive Salute Grey Crew Sock and the Primitive Black Classic P Crew Sock. Both socks are pretty tamed compared to what they have on the market and what other companies are pushing as a cool sock. What grabbed my attention about the socks are the little branding tag at the top of the sock. For some reason that little tab, stood out to me and had my mind wondering about the brand. I came to the conclusion that the tab represented uniqueness, unlike some of the other brands that are embroidering their logos into the sock, Primitive went in a different direction. I appreciate that because I honestly believe in order to succeed you have to be different.
The socks are amazing, comfortable and has just enough visual appeal to get the attention of the passer-byers. Made out of cotton, nylon and spandex, the crew sock sits just right on the shin area because of its ribbed upper. It consist of the jacquard knitting for the logo detail which is great added effect to the sock. The contrast of the heel, toe and foot areas compared to the other parts of the sock are just another added incentive to this sock. Both socks have minimum padding which allows you to wear this sock with any type of shoe and have all day comfort.
