Krooked and adidas Skateboarding have worked together many times over the years. Back in October, the pair put together a nice collection of items to for the adidas Originals' Krooked Bones collection. Due to its release date and popularity, the collection did not last in stores very long. However, I manage to get my hands on the last pair in stock, recently at the local mall.
Mark Gonzales, founder of Krooked, was already wearing adidas when he launched Krooked back in 2002, and since then has brought his creative genius, antics and definitive style to both brands. The collaboration is considered to be part of the "A League Collection". The A League collections honor adidas Skateboarding's special relationships and celebrate our common affinity for skateboarding.
The Krooked Bones socks feature a black-based ribbed mid-shin crew sock. It includes a white striped footbed with a white bone on the shin plus a green adidas and Krooked logo embroidery at the back. The sock is a great street casual sock that can be worn with some nice adidas board shoes or sneakers and shorts. The Krooked Bones sock is constructed of 80% cotton and has a medium heel, toe and foot cusion, making the sock rather thick. The bone design threw me for a "bone" when it was presented to me by the salesperson. However, after staring at it for a few weeks, it began to grow on me. After wearing the sock for a few hours, I came to the conclusion the thickness is not very noticable.
At this point the sock is very, very hard to find. Even during its drop period the sock was released in very limited quantities. If you find a pair you wont be disappointed with the quality and comfort of the sock... Search the web for a pair today.
