“Happy Happy Happy”, the famous words spoken by Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty, can describe the way I felt when I picked up a pair of Happy Socks. The Divided Dots sock takes the traditional look of polka dots and spins it in a unique way.
Before I get ahead of myself, let’s discuss Happy Socks as a company. Happy Socks has been around since the 2008. The company’s founders, Viktor Tell and Mikael Söderlindh had a vision to turn everyday essentials (socks, underwear) into a colorful, high quality and creative must haves. Happy Socks can now be found in retailers in more than 70 countries.
Divided Polka Dot socks are a 3/4 crew length sock, made out of cotton, polyester, nylon and spandex with the main ingredient (if I may) is the amazing combed cotton. What is combed cotton and what makes it so special? Here is a great article that explains the process and gives you plenty of detail of what makes it so special: https://thesocksblog.wordpress.com/2012/08/10/what-is-combed-cotton/
The color of choice for my divided polka dot socks is the cream and blue version. You can also find the black and white color way on the Happy Socks website. The sock is speckled with different size dots that run from the toe area up to the ribbing (We’ll discuss sections of socks later). The interesting part about the sock is the reverse order of the color sequence, oh yeah and it is Unisex (for my women). At first glance, the sock has a uniqueness to it due to the reverse color sequence. It almost look as if you have mismatch socks on. I have to admit once, I put my hands on the sock it didn’t feel as nice as some of the other combed cotton socks I’ve felt. However, once on the feet, Happy Socks feel amazing (well this style). You feet can enjoy the texture of the dots from the inside of the sox, and the materials allows your feet to breathe. The best part about this sock is the versatility, you can take a pair of Jordan sneakers or a nice Cole Haan wingtip and this sock will fit in with either.
Take a look at Happy Socks, those of you who would like to have a nice casual sock that can be worn either to work or while hanging out with friends. At $12 a pair the pricing is spot on and I highly recommend them for those of us, who are on a budget but would like to have a high quality and expensive looking sock. You can find Happy socks at retailers like JC Penney, Saks Off 5th Ave, Nordstrom, Happysocks.com, Amazon.com, and many other retailers.
