To commemorate both, the opening of their new store in New Orleans and the amazing Mardi Gras festivities, Sneaker Politics link up with adidas Consortium to present a Mardi Gras-inspired Gazelle Primeknit.
In 1982 the King of Carnival, leader of one of the oldest and influential Mardi Gras organization's today, declared the krewe's colors: purple for justice, green for faith, and gold for power. On the Gazelle these colors are combined to form a distinct pattern in its Primeknit upper.
This is hard to believe but this is SP's first collaboration with adidas, so it was imperative to create this royal shoe and incorporate a unique backstory. It pays homage to Mardi Gras' past and present, but it is also a model versatile enough to be worn in all circumstances. This Primeknit version of the Gazelle portrays a strong degree of heritage and modern technological innovation.
We are excited for Sneaker Politics and can't wait to get our hands on this Primeknit Gazelle. Look for the Sneaker Politics x adidas Consortium Primeknit Gazelle to release Saturday, Feb. 18 in-store (New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette Locations) and online.
